Secondlife is an online community/socializing game. It’s NOT a MMORPG. It’s not WoW, Runescape, Everquest, Halo or any of those level-up killing games. It’s closer to something like gaiaonline, except it’s a game, not a forum.
-People do make items/sims(areas of game, like maps) that do have fighting capabilities. It is the only game I’ve come across that I can fire couches at my friend through a gun(looked like a squirt gun btw).

Virtually everything you see (besides some default stuff ), the landscape, buildings, hell the AVATARS are made by players.

One downside to the game is the Lindens (in-game currency) originally starts as real world money. You do not necessarily need to pay to get lindens, you can always just have nice friends like I do. :3

However it’s free to play, you don’t HAVE to be a subscribing member and you still get to do pretty much everything (ye’d just have to figure out how to get money on yer own or with patrons of the game).
There are tons of freebies, so you can make nifty avatars without having to really spend much.
People do business in this game, from making avatars/buildings/accessories to sell to the mass public, or select customs. Hell, I’ve done a art commission before and got some monies. ;3
