Lol...... in person.

PERSONALLY I think most of us know what my answer is. >_>

They're friends, but like...a subcategory, lol. (I'm just cruel like that) Just like I have school friends and then friends I hang out with.

Mhmmm, maybe acquaintances may be a better word then? :3

I get like that with comrades, sorta group them together. There are friends I would only see in high school, then friends(closer friends) I would make efforts to see outside of just school. It's the ones you're closer to.

I'm not saying not taking online friendships to the die-for-extreme level is a bad thing. Some people just wanna chatter, nothing more or less. ;)

Either way, when one DOES have close friendships, they build up over time. Whether it be with people from your home town, or a few thousand miles away.

Haha, no, acquaintances have their own category XD Most of the people I consider DA friends are above that level.

I just like to categorize, lol. But yeah, totally do the same thing, lol ('cept now I'm not in high school anymore, lol, so now it's like "friends I see at conventions" and such, lol...would help if I didn't live 5+ hours away now).

But yeah, friendships can build, lol, though I don't think an online is as valuable as one where ya know each other in person (but hey, can always meet in person...SAFELY!!).

Yeh, safety is an important issue with meeting people you've never technically met. ^^;

For me there's not much difference of value, though people I know in person can more easily become... err... 'valuable' to me (lol I sound like a stalker).

Lol, I don't think ya sound like a stalker =) But yeah, my values don't differ much (but on a scale, it'd go: friend's friend, acquaintance, online friends, school friends, close online friends, close "real-life" friends), lol.

On KGS, a server for playing go, I met a guy on there who goes by the name Leonheart and we've played each other and became friends over time. His teacher was also my teacher, and that's how we met and became a gay couple (not really, sorry to get your hopes up). We talk to each other about a lot in life, even if we only talk really when we're logged in. I feel like because he's far away we can be closer, because we can tell each other things that we can't tell to people who are close to us. I don't know if it's a lesser form of friendship, but it's definitely a different kind.
